The ground rules for Clutch, the ranked ladder. Plain language, no walls of legalese.
Terms of Service
2026-07-09
This is a plain-language summary written for an early MVP. It is not formal legal advice, and it may change as the project grows.
1. What Clutch is
Clutch is a competitive, ranked Minecraft PvP ladder operated as an independent project by Clapxz. It matches players by skill, records match results, and turns them into a live rating and public tier.
By creating an account, linking a game identity, or playing a ranked match, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Clutch.
2. Eligibility
You must be old enough to use an online service under the laws of your country, and old enough to hold a Discord account. If you are a minor, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
Ranked play requires a legitimate, premium (Mojang-authenticated) Minecraft account. Cracked or offline-mode accounts are not eligible for ranked and are not rated.
3. Account and identity
You sign in with Discord (OAuth). To appear on the ladder you link your Minecraft identity by verifying your account in-game; we store your Minecraft UUID and current in-game name.
You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure. You may not impersonate another player, share accounts to manipulate ratings, or link an identity that is not yours.
4. Fair play
Ranked integrity is the whole point. Cheating of any kind — hacked clients, macros, exploits, or any tooling that gives an unfair advantage — is prohibited.
Account boosting, win-trading, queue-dodging to farm weaker opponents, and piloting (letting someone else play on your account, or playing on someone else's) are prohibited and lead to rating resets or bans.
Anti-cheat runs on every ranked match. Confirmed cheating results in removal from the ladder and may be permanent.
5. The ladder is provided as-is
Clutch is an early-stage project currently running on a homelab setup. It is provided "as is" and "as available", with no guarantee of uptime, performance, or data durability. Matches may be interrupted and the service may go down without notice.
Ratings, tiers, placements, and the matchmaking algorithm are experimental. The operator may reset, recalculate, or adjust ratings and tiers — including wiping the ladder — to fix bugs, counter abuse, or improve fairness.
6. Prohibited conduct
Do not harass, threaten, or abuse other players. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure.
Do not automate access, scrape at abusive rates, or submit falsified match data. Combat-logging to avoid a loss may be treated as a forfeit.
7. Termination
The operator may suspend or remove any account at any time, with or without notice, for breaking these Terms or to protect the integrity of the ladder.
You can stop using Clutch at any time and request deletion of your account (see the Privacy Policy).
8. Changes
These Terms may change as the project evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Questions go through the official Discord.
Privacy Policy
2026-07-09
This is a plain-language summary for an early MVP, not formal legal advice. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
1. What we collect
From Discord (when you sign in): your Discord user ID, username, and avatar.
From Minecraft (when you link): your Minecraft UUID and current in-game name (IGN).
From play: match results, ratings, tiers, and related competitive stats.
Optional, self-submitted: setup details you choose to share (hardware, in-game settings, keybinds, client).
We do NOT collect or store Minecraft passwords. Cracked/offline accounts aren't rated, so there is no password database at all.
2. Why we can process it (legal basis)
We rely on legitimate interest: running a fair, cheat-free competitive ladder requires knowing who played, the result, and detecting abuse. We keep the footprint minimal and proportionate to that goal.
3. Data minimization and retention
The match payload is kept minimal — essentially a UUID and a result, not chat or raw network data.
Operational signals like IP addresses and chat used for anti-cheat and abuse handling are retained only briefly (about 30–90 days) or stored in hashed form, then discarded.
Account and competitive data (Discord id, UUID, IGN, ratings) is kept while your account is active.
4. Where your data lives
Account and match data is stored on Supabase (a cloud database provider) which processes it on our behalf. Data may be handled on infrastructure outside your country.
5. Your rights
You can request access to the data we hold about you, corrections, or deletion of your account and associated data. Requests go through the official Discord contact.
Deleting your account removes your profile and competitive record; some minimal, anonymized aggregates may remain to keep historical ratings coherent.
6. We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies needed for authentication and session (via Supabase). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that does not fingerprint you or track you across other sites.
8. Age (GDPR / COPPA)
Clutch is not directed at children under 13, and depending on your region the minimum age may be higher (up to 16 under GDPR). If you are under the applicable age, do not use Clutch without a parent or guardian's consent.
If we learn we have collected data from a child below the applicable age without proper consent, we will delete it.

Plain-language notice for an early MVP, not formal legal advice.
1. Independent project
Clutch is an independent, fan-made project by Clapxz. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.
"Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. All related names, marks, and assets belong to their respective owners. We use them only nominatively to describe compatibility.
2. No pay-to-win
Clutch is free to play and competitive on the merits. If monetization is ever introduced, it will be strictly non-competitive: cosmetics, queue priority, or similar convenience — never a competitive advantage.
Kits, mechanics, and matchmaking are identical for paying and non-paying players. Money will never buy rating, wins, or a tier.
3. As-is service
The ladder, ratings, and tiers are provided for competitive entertainment, without warranty of any kind. The operator is not liable for lost matches, rating changes, downtime, or data loss.
